It has taken a week, but the video of Anna's first birthday celebration are up and running. There are two videos. The first deals with a JApanese tradition, 'Mochi motsu'. This translates into carrying the mochi. Mochi is a japanese food that is made from pounding rice into a sticky, glutinous substance. Quite tasty, and heavy. Anna had to try her luck carrying a 2kg mochi ball...see how she made out.

How great to see and hear all the laughter that dear little anna generates in the Takahashi home. great looking cake Yuko. were you able to carry the rice when you were a year old??? very interesting custom. thanks for sharing her happy day. love michele
Interesting custom I'll say!! Poor little kid is going to fear rice from now on - actually, who I am kidding. She was ready to eat both blocks of Mochi
Wonder why Anna was so tired? Maybe because her dad woke her up the night before to watch his team fall apart. So sad...at least he still had his jersey on. I love naive sports fans.
Can't wait to see you guys this summer. And can you start feeding Anna when she isn't completely exhausted? Cruelty
Dear children, thank you so much for allowing me to share in your joy of Anna. I can hardly wait to see all of you in the summer time. I am sure that my birthday won't be as exciting as Anna's was. But just in case you care (pretend that you do) my birthday is on Saturday May 3/08. Seeing you all in the video made me want to come for a visit for at least 6 months. Do you think that you & Yuko could handle me for that long? I could be the nanny to Anna so that you & Yuko could not worry about leaving her. Ok I must go now, but soon I will have a new email address as I finally broke down and have signed for the internet. Take care and keep the email and video's coming, I miss you all lots and love you all lots.
Give your girls love & kisses from Auntie Renee
I knew it was only a matter of time before Anna started licking the mochi. Man, what a cruel family - "Let's make our daughter cry - hahahahaha - oh th hilarity!" Dad must have grown up surrounded by Testosterone Overload Part III by Nintendo.
hey! fil here. haha that was a stacker of a cake! just wanted to let you guys know we're gonna link you to our blog. ours is happyhake.blogspot.com
